Job Summary

The Custodian is a key member of our facilities team, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools. As a Custodian, you will be working independently and as part of a team to ensure our facilities are safe and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of cleaning and minor tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces
  • Operate a range of custodial equipment, including vacuum cleaners, mops, and cleaning solutions
  • Conduct minor maintenance duties, such as replacing light bulbs and unclogging drains
  • Work collaboratively with other facilities staff to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities
Requirements
  • Completion of high school up to and including Grade 10
  • Building Service Worker Certificate
  • Valid BC Driver's License
  • Fire Safety Course
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as Building Service Worker (Division I, III, IV) by Canadian Building Servicing Association
  • Previous experience in the maintenance of commercial or school buildings
  • Basic Computer Skills (email)
  • Building Service Management Course
  • Training in building trades
