Environmental Services Director Role

At Schlegel Villages, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Services Director to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading and directing department(s) in a healthcare setting, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff.

Vision and Mission

As a key member of our team, you will contribute to this vision by overseeing the implementation of Best Practices in Maintenance, Housekeeping & Laundry, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and direct department(s) in a healthcare setting, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
  2. Oversee the implementation of Best Practices in Maintenance, Housekeeping & Laundry.
  3. Develop and implement departmental budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  4. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals.
  5. Identify potential hazards and rectify situations to ensure a safe working environment.
  6. Teach team members how to safely handle potentially hazardous materials.
  7. Facilitate regular fire drills and ensure team members are aware of safety procedures.
  8. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  9. Excellent time management and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field.
  • Three (3) years of experience leading and directing department(s) in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Knowledge of Best Practices in Maintenance, Housekeeping & Laundry.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
