General Manager - Kitchener Waterloo

The Westcliff Group of Companies, a leading commercial real estate development, management, and ownership group in Canada, is seeking a highly skilled General Manager to oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day operation of a super regional shopping center in the Kitchener Waterloo Area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Direction: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to drive value and increase financial return for stakeholders.
  • Property Management: Ensure the continuous improvement of the property, including maintenance, repairs, and capital projects.
  • Leasing and Development: Participate in long-term leasing and development strategy for the asset, including identifying new business opportunities and negotiating leases.
  • Tenant Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with tenants, municipal authorities, and local organizations.
  • Team Leadership: Select, train, and motivate the onsite management team to achieve business objectives.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and manage the annual center budget, including forecasting income and expenses, and ensuring timely processing of payables and receivables.
  • Security and Safety: Review and implement security procedures and plans to ensure appropriate coverage and a sound security plan is in place.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Oversee all safety, maintenance, and repair work carried out in the center and by tenants.
Qualifications:
  • Dynamic Leadership: The ideal candidate is a dynamic, organized, and structured leader with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Business Acumen: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated sound business judgment.
  • Education and Experience: An undergraduate university degree in administration or a related field, with 7 years' experience in retail property management and team leadership.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with knowledge of BOMA BEST and Yardi accounting programs an asset.
