Event Coordinator

Intellectual Property Ontario (IPON) is a new provincial agency that serves as a go-to resource for Intellectual Property (IP) expertise to help researchers and companies maximize the value of their IP, strengthen their capacity to grow and compete in the global market.

This is a hybrid opportunity within Ontario, with offices in Kitchener and Toronto where the team meets to collaborate and on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute IPON's event strategy, ensuring all event agreements and commitments are met.
  • Identify, recommend, and execute events that IPON should attend, support, and participate in.
  • Act as the point person for all IPON speaking engagements, liaising and coordinating with Leadership groups, external and internal partners, and stakeholders.
  • Lead the execution of all IPON hosted and co-hosted events.
  • Lead the execution of all IPON event participation activities.
  • Work with IPON's Communications Team to ensure the successful and on-time creation of all required event materials, such as promotion, presentation, signage, speaking notes, and other marketing/communications collateral.
  • Own back-end logistics, including managing Eventbrite, setting up Zoom webinars, and researching technology requirements.
  • Attend events, both virtual and on-site across Ontario, for set up, take down, and to ensure events run smoothly.
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing Advisor on branding strategies to ensure events are marketed and well attended.
Qualifications:
  • Up to 1 year of experience coordinating events, both in person and virtual.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Marketing, Event Management, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience managing and building multiple stakeholder relationships.
  • Interest in intellectual property, technology sectors, and/or the innovation economy.
  • Experience using Eventbrite, Zoom, PowerPoint.
  • Professionalism and attention to details to ensure IPON is well represented at events and attendees are well prepared.
  • Ability to travel within Ontario and transport event materials as required to attend in-person events.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.

The annual salary range for this role is $55,800 - $75,487, plus benefits and pension.
