About the PositionWe're seeking an Intermediate Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Processor Analyst to join our Richmond, BC, Canada office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation Earth Observation space missions.
You'll be part of a talented remote sensing team that has delivered successful projects like RADARSAT-2, RapidEye, Sapphire, CASSIOPE, and the CHORUS Constellation of SAR satellites. With 30+ years of experience in delivering commercial and government projects, you'll have the chance to work on complex signal processing systems and develop novel algorithms that generate high-value imagery and real-time actionable intelligence for our customers.
This is a role suited for an ambitious professional who wants to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions. You'll contribute to our world-leading Synthetic Aperture Radar processors by designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing high-quality SAR processor models and prototypes using current best practices in architecture and software development.
Responsibilities- Develop novel signal processing algorithms to improve SAR performance;
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance SAR processor models and prototypes;
- Participate in trade-off studies to ensure algorithms are implementable on real hardware;
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and mitigate signal processing errors or induced artefacts in SAR image products;
- Perform system-level analyses and develop models to predict and test system performance;
- Develop solutions to improve image quality;
- Develop and execute calibration plans for SAR missions;
- Coordinate SAR processing requirements and development with stakeholders;
- Generate clear and thorough written reports documenting complex algorithms and technical performance;
- Mentor and coach junior team members;
- Undergraduate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Math, Physics, or a related field;
- 3 years of experience working in an engineering or technical environment or 4 years with a relevant postgraduate degree;
- 3 or more years working on complex signal processing systems;
- Solid understanding of high-speed and high-throughput data analysis and transmission principles;
- Ability and knowledge to work with MATLAB, Python, or C++;
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
- Able to work within a large organization and understand dependencies and stakeholder needs;
$80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
