We are seeking a highly skilled Pathologists Assistant I to join our team at U of A Hospital and two additional locations. As a key member of our anatomic pathology team, you will play a critical role in the examination and preparation of specimens for diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform gross examination of specimens from biopsy and surgical procedures, selecting sections for processing.
- Work closely with pathologists and residents to ensure accurate and efficient examination and documentation of specimens.
- Assist in the preparation of remains for autopsy, including receiving and preparing specimens.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure smooth operation of the anatomic pathology department.
- Master's Degree in Pathologists' Assistant or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active or eligible for certification with the Canadian Certification Council of Pathologists' Assistants (CCCPA).
- Recent experience grossing specimens of all complexities.
- Experience with Epic – Beaker, AP Modules.
- Experience with DMO or other voice recognition dictating software.
- Experience teaching learners to gross.
- A competitive salary range of $43.59 - $52.83 per hour.
