Software Development Engineer - Amazon Ads, Recommendation Experience

At Amazon, we're working to build a unique advertising group with a relentless focus on the customer. Our team is responsible for developing solutions that help self-service advertisers reach their full potential by leveraging our cloud services, unique data, the latest machine learning methods, and big data technologies.

We're looking for a talented Software Development Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of systems that help advertisers achieve their business goals. You'll collaborate closely with our software leaders, learn new technologies, innovate, and contribute to new ads products that our global customers use daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with design and product teams to understand needs, propose features, create early prototypes, and transform them into impactful and exciting experiences.
  2. Propose innovative tools, frameworks, automations, and processes that are used by the Recommendation Optimization (ROX) team and the larger FORGE organization.
  3. Write clean, maintainable code and perform peer code-reviews.
  4. Deep-dive into client or server systems to optimize for performance, maintainability, scalability, extensibility as needed.
  5. Mentor team members to promote engineering excellence.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
