Job Title: Senior Middleware Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Middleware Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing our middleware development team and contributing to the design and implementation of solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of 3-5 Systems Management administrators
  • Manage support and administration of Middleware infrastructure
  • Define, audit, and manage operating procedures for Middleware infrastructure
  • Review IT projects for labor estimation, hardware sizing, and Middleware infrastructure recommendations
  • Ensure proper deployment, auditing, and tracking of Middleware product licenses
  • Manage configuration and maintenance of Middleware products/platforms
  • Troubleshoot Middleware infrastructure problems
  • Manage support of Middleware development efforts
  • Develop and maintain best practices and enterprise standards for Middleware infrastructure
  • Evaluate and perform hot-fixes/patches/upgrades
  • Provide capacity planning and disaster recovery planning for Middleware infrastructure
  • Provide key performance metrics for Middleware infrastructure
Requirements:
  • University degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; team player attitude essential
  • Demonstrated team lead experience in IT
  • Minimum 1-3 years relevant work experience using Middleware products such as Tibco, Savvion BPM, BMC Patrol, BMC Control-M, Weblogic, and FTP/PGP encryption
  • Experience with integrating Middleware with Oracle and SQL Server databases
  • Experience with UML tool desirable
  • Experience with UNIX scripting on SUN Solaris/HP-UX platforms required
  • Some experience with Windows Host scripting language required
  • Experience with XML/XSD/XSLT/XPATH desirable
  • Experience with Java/J2EE, C/C++, JavaScript,.NET (Visual Basic/C#) desirable
  • Experience administering PGP encryption, as well as using SSH, SSL
  • Some demonstrated experience with monitoring tools
  • Some demonstrated experience with job control tools
  • Demonstrated experience in working in IT environments with incident and change management processes
  • Working experience with 3rd party Remedy tool as a vehicle for incident management desirable
  • Knowledge/experience with ERWin/related data modeling software an asset
  • Knowledge/some experience with EMC SANs required
  • Knowledge/experience in related Systems management products such as Tivoli and Unicenter desirable
