This is an exciting opportunity to join Brainhunter Systems Ltd as a Chief Financial Officer in the not-for-profit sector.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and safeguarding the financial assets and accounting processes of the organization, including the development, implementation, and management of financial systems, internal controls, and financial policies and procedures.

This role reports directly to the Senior Vice President & CFO and leads a team of 5 finance staff members, responsible for engaging, training, and performing the team. As a member of the Foundation management team, the Chief Financial Officer works closely with other leaders to provide appropriate financial management reporting and financial support on strategic projects.

Key responsibilities include leading the daily accounting and month-end close processes, ensuring the timely accuracy of all accounting records; managing the Foundation's financial information systems and data; developing, assessing, and innovating the financial information systems, technology, and processes to support financial planning, control, and management reporting requirements.

Additionally, the successful candidate will lead budgeting planning and forecasting processes, manage key performance metrics and variance reporting, and be responsible for managing the Foundation's fund accounting processes, ensuring donated funds are stewarded and disbursed according to designated intent.

Qualifications:
  • A post-secondary education and degree in finance or accounting, with a CPA designation and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior finance management-related role.
  • Experience in a not-for-profit environment and/or with fund accounting.
  • Experience in accounting for a diversified investment fund and/or in treasury management.
