About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Optical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Oval Optical. As an Optical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality eyeglasses and contact lenses are produced for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Prescription Records: Accurately record and maintain client prescription information, ensuring seamless communication between our laboratory and optical departments.
  • Clean and Maintain Equipment: Regularly clean and maintain all laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent damage.
  • Perform General Clerical Duties: Provide administrative support to our laboratory team, including data entry, filing, and other tasks as needed.
  • Prepare and Maintain Cleanliness of Collection Areas: Ensure all collection areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained to prevent contamination and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Process Files and Paperwork: Accurately process and manage client files, prescriptions, and other paperwork to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Schedule and Confirm Appointments: Coordinate with our optical department to schedule and confirm appointments for clients, ensuring seamless communication and timely service.
  • Order Supplies and Equipment: Procure and manage laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring we have the necessary resources to maintain high-quality production.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Accurately track and manage laboratory inventory, ensuring we have the necessary materials to meet client demands.
  • Make Minor Adjustments and Repairs: Perform minor adjustments and repairs to eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality.
  • Arrange for Grinding or Polishing of Lenses: Coordinate with our laboratory team to arrange for grinding or polishing of lenses, ensuring timely and accurate production.Area of Specialization
    • Obtain Specifications for Eyeglasses or Contact Lenses: Obtain detailed specifications for eyeglasses or contact lenses from clients, ensuring accurate production and timely delivery.
    • Fitting Clients with Prescription Eyeglasses or Contact Lenses: Fit clients with prescription eyeglasses or contact lenses, ensuring a comfortable and accurate fit.

    • Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accurate production and timely delivery of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
