We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Optical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at SKYLIGHT OPTICAL INC. As an Optical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality eyewear products are delivered to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Prescription Records: Accurately record and maintain patient prescription information, ensuring seamless communication between our laboratory and optometrists.
  • Prepare and Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Ensure all laboratory equipment and supplies are properly maintained, calibrated, and stored to meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Perform General Clerical Duties: Provide administrative support to our laboratory team, including data entry, filing, and other tasks as required.
  • Prepare and Maintain Cleanliness of Collection Areas: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all health and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Process Files and Paperwork: Accurately process and manage patient files, prescriptions, and other documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Schedule and Confirm Appointments: Coordinate with our optometrists and patients to schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring seamless communication and timely delivery of eyewear products.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Effectively manage and maintain our inventory of eyewear products, lenses, and other materials to ensure timely delivery and minimize waste.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Procure and manage the ordering of materials, equipment, and supplies to meet the needs of our laboratory and ensure timely delivery.
  • Make Minor Adjustments and Repairs: Perform minor adjustments and repairs to eyewear products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Arrange for Grinding or Polishing of Lenses or Grind and Polish Lenses: Collaborate with our laboratory team to grind and polish lenses to meet the precise specifications of our customers.
  • Obtain Specifications for Eyeglasses and Contact Lenses from a Prescription Prepared by an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist: Accurately obtain and record specifications for eyeglasses and contact lenses from prescriptions prepared by ophthalmologists or optometrists.Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
