About the Role
Transat A.T Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Director Labor Relations and Negotiations to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping our labor relations strategy and ensuring a positive and cooperative relationship with our union partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement labor relations strategies to achieve business objectives
- Coordinate negotiation sessions and assist in drafting collective agreements
- Conduct research and analysis to inform negotiation positions
- Consult with management and HR teams to obtain negotiation mandates
- Establish innovative negotiation strategies and tactics
- Prepare and present negotiation mandates to the Board
- Act as a spokesperson and expert advisor during negotiations
- Provide recommendations to the CEO on labor relations issues
- Coordinate the application of collective agreements and amendments
- Share expertise with negotiation committee members and maintain trust with union representatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in industrial relations, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum 15 years of experience in labor relations, negotiations, and legal affairs
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to exert influence and resolve conflicts
- Team-oriented and autonomous
- Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and experience with Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service are assets
