About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Benefits Consultant to join our team at CA007 Mercer (Canada) Limited. As a Benefits Consultant, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice and guidance to our clients on their employee benefits programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and timely data and financial analysis on various projects for medical, dental, life, and disability programs.
- Work in a collaborative environment on a wide variety of client teams with colleagues in the health and benefits industry.
- Support clients in the financial and strategic management of their employee benefit programs through analysis and communication.
- Perform basic or complex calculations with respect to the costs of our clients' current employee benefit plans and insurance arrangements.
- Gain an understanding of basic project management and consulting skills, including managing the quality and timeliness of client deliverables.
- Gain an understanding of the following, through online training, group sessions, or one-on-one training with colleagues: Health and Benefits products, services, and technical tools offered by Mercer, vendor/carrier markets, basic underwriting skills, budget-setting, rate-setting, and evaluation.
Requirements:
- Graduating with a bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, business administration, or a related field between December 2024 – June 2025.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills and working knowledge of Excel and other MS-Office software programs.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity; seeking opportunities to develop new skills.
- Ability to work in teams and be flexible to work under tight deadlines and changing client needs.
- Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
