Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Public Disposal and Recycling Inc. as a Heavy Truck Repair Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Inspect Equipment

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting and troubleshooting diesel engines and heavy equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.

Diagnose and Repair Faults

The successful candidate will diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.

Order and Maintain Inventory

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for ordering parts and maintaining inventory to ensure that all necessary components are available for repairs.

Adjust and Repair Equipment

The successful candidate will adjust and repair diesel engines and heavy equipment, including replacing defective parts as needed.

Keep Maintenance Records

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for keeping accurate maintenance records and documentation to ensure that all repairs are properly tracked and recorded.

Test and Inspect Repaired Equipment

The successful candidate will test and inspect repaired equipment to ensure that it meets manufacturers' specifications and is in good working condition.

Clean and Maintain Equipment

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining diesel engines and heavy equipment to ensure that they are in good working condition.

Perform Repair Work on Heavy Trucks

The successful candidate will perform repair work on heavy trucks, including servicing attachments and working tools.

Verify and Repair Emission Control Systems

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for verifying and repairing emission control systems to ensure that they are functioning properly.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Physically Demanding

The Diesel Mechanic will be required to work in a physically demanding environment, including bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.

Attention to Detail

The successful candidate will be required to have attention to detail and be able to work accurately and efficiently.

Standing for Extended Periods

The Diesel Mechanic will be required to stand for extended periods and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
  • 1-2 Years of Experience

The successful candidate will have 1-2 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a related field.

Permanent Employment

The Diesel Mechanic will be employed on a permanent basis.

English Language

The successful candidate will be required to have a strong understanding of the English language.

32-35 Hours per Week

The Diesel Mechanic will work 32-35 hours per week.
