We are seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of our chiller plants, high pressure steam equipment, pressure vessels, water treatment programs, and related auxiliary equipment.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, including medical gas/air/vacuum systems, air handling units, heating systems, and fire water pumping systems. You will be responsible for completing rounds of building mechanical rooms, inspecting various mechanical systems, and identifying areas for improvement.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be a team player who is committed to providing exceptional service to our patients and staff.
About YouWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Power Engineer who possesses the following qualifications:
- Designation as a Standardized Nova Scotia 3rd Class Power Engineer
- One year experience in a high pressure plant (steam) and associated equipment required
- Good knowledge of the operation of boilers, chillers, HVAC, and other electrical machinery
- Strong safety track record and mindset
- Knowledge of applicable safety codes
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

HoursThis is a permanent, part-time (20%) position.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $29.65 - $30.44, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
