The Virgin Islands Water & Power Authority is seeking a highly skilled Water Plant Shift Leader to oversee the safe and efficient operation of our water distribution plant equipment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our water treatment and distribution systems, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Oversight: Supervise and direct water plant operators to ensure the safe and efficient operation of water treatment and distribution equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on water treatment and distribution equipment, including pumps, valves, and storage tanks.
- Quality Control: Monitor and control water quality, ensuring that it meets or exceeds regulatory standards.
- Emergency Response: Respond to and resolve emergency situations, such as equipment failures or water main breaks.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, water quality, and other relevant data.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and training to water plant operators to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with courses in mechanical trades and/or electrical trades.
- Experience: Four years of experience in water distribution plant operations, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of water treatment and distribution equipment, as well as emergency procedures and response protocols. Ability to read and interpret measuring and testing devices, and to record and maintain accurate logs of readings and other records.
