Job Summary

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Investment Associate to join our team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our Chairman Council Team - Harp Dhillon Group, you will be responsible for providing dedicated support in investment and money management activities.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing investment policy decisions, monitoring asset mixes, rebalancing portfolios, and managing risk. You will also be responsible for implementing changes to portfolios by trading equity, fixed income, alternatives, and money market securities.

As a key member of our team, you will assist with day-to-day portfolio review, asset allocation rebalancing, and executing and monitoring trades as directed by the Portfolio Manager. You will also be responsible for contacting clients with specific buy/sell recommendations as directed by the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement investment policy decisions and monitor asset mixes
  • Rebalance portfolios and manage risk
  • Implement changes to portfolios by trading securities
  • Assist with day-to-day portfolio review and asset allocation rebalancing
  • Contact clients with specific buy/sell recommendations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of financial products, including equities, fixed income, mutual funds, preferred shares, options, alternatives, and private equity. You will also need to have excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills and meticulous attention to detail.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the securities industry is required, as well as a Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH). A CFA level 1 or CIM designation is also an asset.
