Vancouver Christian School is a large, diverse, non-profit, K-12 independent school located in East Vancouver, British Columbia. Our school community is passionate about Christian education and is seeking a highly skilled Financial Officer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the school's financial resources are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Perform a variety of general accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Develop and implement business improvement projects, processes, and systems to improve school operations.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance to achieve financial goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Commerce with a Chartered Professional Accountant designation or working towards the CPA designation.
  • Minimum of 3 years of full cycle bookkeeping experience, preferably in an educational setting or non-profit organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop solutions and support business improvement projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff and stakeholders.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
