Overview

BullyingCanada is a leading national support service that provides a safe haven for bullied children and youth. As a key member of our Development team, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission by conducting strategic research and development efforts.

Compensation

This part-time (20 hours a week) position offers a competitive salary of $30,000, providing a stable income while allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Prospect Researcher to join our team on a short-term contract starting August 9, 2021, and ending November 30, 2021. This dynamic role involves collecting information on individuals, corporations, organizations, and foundations to inform our fundraising strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research on prospects and donors using internal and external resources.
  • Produce well-written reports analyzing and synthesizing research findings.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and developments through ongoing professional development and networking.
  • Review and recommend prospect research tools and services.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Library and/or Information Studies, or equivalent experience in information technology and prospect research.
  • Strong knowledge and passion for prospect research and fundraising.
  • Membership in APRA Canada and AFP, with ongoing education in related areas.
  • Experience with prospect research methods and management systems.
  • Familiarity with funder directories, Internet search engines, and Canadian business landscapes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
