Salary

This part-time position offers a competitive salary of $30,000, providing an opportunity for individuals with relevant experience to contribute to our mission while being fairly compensated.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Researcher and Donor Development Specialist to join our national team. As an integral member of our Development team, you will be responsible for collecting information on individuals, corporations, organizations, and foundations, as well as producing in-depth reports on prospects and donors. Your role will involve monitoring news, events, and trends that can impact our fundraising strategies and suggesting actions for follow-up.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and rate the ability and willingness to give of individuals, corporations, organizations, and foundations
  • Analyze and synthesize information from internal and external resources to produce well-written reports
  • Conduct media scanning to identify relevant news, people, events, issues, and trends
  • Review and recommend prospect research tools and services
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Library and/or Information Studies, or equivalent combination of education and experience in information technology and prospect research
  • Knowledge and passion for prospect research and fundraising
  • Membership in APRA Canada and AFP, along with related ongoing education (preferred)
  • Experience with prospect research methods and prospect management systems
  • Familiarity with funder directories, including Grant Connect, FoundationSearch, SEDAR, and SEDI, as well as Internet search engines
