Financial Analyst, Accounting Systems & Projects

Brandt is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team in Regina, SK. As a key member of our Accounting Systems & Projects team, you will assist the Manager in maintaining business systems, general ledger, and reporting tools.

The ideal candidate will have proficient Excel and PowerBI skills, including experience with Power Query, exposure to ERP system maintenance, and experience collaborating with IT and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the day-to-day operation of accounting systems, ensuring integration with internal reporting tools and providing support to accounting teams.
  • Assist with planning, testing, and implementation of accounting system functionality improvements to drive efficiencies for operations and accounting.
  • Develop and implement a new financial statement reporting tool for all divisions and support ongoing maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the IT department on developing and maintaining a database of financial and operational metrics to support reporting across the company.
  • Work with operations and accounting teams to develop and maintain consistent KPI reporting across all divisions.
  • Develop and maintain PowerBI dashboards and reporting to be used across the company.
  • Assist in training operations and accounting teams on using PowerBI and other reporting tools.
  • Assist in planning and implementing improvements to the company's budget tool and perform annual updates and maintenance required in advance of the budget cycle.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
  • Solid analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills with a drive for continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in an accounting setting with exposure to Accounting System Software rules.
  • Detailed experience working with Excel and some experience with Microsoft PowerBI.
  • Understanding of financial metrics and accounting.
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business/Accounting, with an advanced degree or professional Accounting designation (such as CPA) preferred.
