Biomedical Engineering Technologist IV

Job Summary

The University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Engineering Technologist IV to join our team at the UHN Radiotheranostics Core (UHNRC) facility. As a key member of our Engineering Service Technology Team, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the maintenance and repair of complex equipment, including cyclotrons, synthesis units, and hot cells.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of cyclotrons, synthesis units, hot cells, and other ancillary equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
  • Provide operational support, including cleaning of synthesis units and change of transfer lines
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment
  • Provide on-call support for the cyclotron facility
  • Work overtime in the event of a major equipment breakdown
  • Draft GMP documentation, including SOPs and forms
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts
  • Schedule and perform calibration of equipment
  • Read and understand electro-pneumatic diagrams
  • Participate in educational activities, including radiation safety and GMP training

Requirements

  • College or University Diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in Biomedical Engineering Technology or related fields
  • Proficient in English or French
  • At least 5 years of experience in maintaining cyclotrons and synthesis modules
  • Membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) or equivalent
