About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Nova Scotia Community College team as an Instructional Designer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing instructional materials, activities, and evaluation tools for online and blended courses and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality instructional materials, activities, and evaluation tools that meet the needs of students and faculty.
  • Work closely with various stakeholders, including other Instructional Designers, faculty, and external partners, to ensure alignment and consistency in instructional design.
  • Stay current with the latest technologies, educational philosophies, and best practices in instructional design and delivery.
  • Provide training and support to faculty on the development and delivery of effective online courses.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • University undergraduate degree and a recognized Professional Certification/Designation in Instructional Design or equivalent combination of education credentials and certifications.
  • Minimum of five years of recent and relevant experience in developing, designing, and supporting online courses and programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning techniques and assessment strategies, as well as experience with educational technology.
  • Proficient in learning new tools and technologies, with a strong understanding of Universal Design for Learning and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy.
  • Familiarity with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, and industry-standard software, as well as experience with learning management systems and eLearning authoring software.
