Valard Construction LP, a renowned name within the power contracting industry, is currently seeking skilled Electric Powerline Technicians to join their dynamic team. As a vital member of the Valard Group of Companies, this position offers a unique chance to be part of a leading organization in North America.
Based in Saskatchewan, the successful candidate will be part of a 10/4 shift, contributing to the maintenance and repair of overhead and underground power lines, including insulators, conductors, switches, transformers, street lighting, and other essential equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining, repairing, and erecting wood or concrete poles and guy wires
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground power lines and cables, including insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting, and other associated equipment
- Operate and maintain equipment and tools safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with senior technicians to ensure adherence to safety protocols and the highest quality of workmanship
- Providing on-the-job training, instruction, and mentorship to junior personnel and apprentices
Requirements:
- Red Seal Journeyman Powerline Technician certification
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in distribution and transmission line maintenance and repair
- A Class 1 or 3 driver's license is considered an asset
- Rubber Glove Training is considered an asset
- Standard First Aid (CPR/AED) certification is considered an asset
