Job Title: Nurse Educator

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Educator to join our team. As a key member of our Professional Practice Office, you will play a vital role in advancing professional practice within our clinical areas, including the inpatient Crisis Critical Care program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver education programs for point-of-care staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development of high-performing interprofessional clinical teams through education and practice development initiatives.
  • Assess and develop clinical and leadership skills of point-of-care staff in collaboration with program leadership, unit managers, and advanced practice clinical leads.
  • Support clinical staff in the implementation of education initiatives, such as patient safety initiatives and clinical policy development.
  • Collaborate with unit managers to recruit and manage staff, monitor clinical quality improvement measures, and participate in program research and evaluation.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Five years of experience in the mental health field, with specific experience working with clients with severe mental health and addiction issues.
  • BN/BScN degree and computer literacy.
  • Previous teaching experience and CNA certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing are assets.
