About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Adanac Park Lodge in Vancouver, BC. As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will work closely with Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Practice Coordinators to carry out established rehabilitative activities in both occupational therapy and physiotherapy scope of practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the team with duties such as receiving assignments and implementing lower risk interventions related to the clinical aspects of OT/PT care plans.
  • Demonstrate and teach activities, adapt devices to enable patients/clients/residents to maximize their potential for independence, and provide functional direction to patient/client/residents and family.
  • Report relevant observations of patient/client/resident progress and behaviours, and provide direction to volunteers, organize and clean equipment and supplies for activities, and maintain established inventory of supplies.

About Adanac Park Lodge

Adanac Park Lodge is a regional Vancouver Coastal Health Long Term Care program specializing in providing care to younger adults with complex health and behavioral needs. Our unique population of focus is younger adults who have concurrent Mental Health, Substance Use and/or Acquired Brain Injury, and who often have co-existing physical, developmental and/or chronic health conditions.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, ability to deal with others effectively, physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, ability to organize work, and ability to operate related equipment.
