About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stationary Engineer to join our team at Black & McDonald Limited. As a 3rd Class Power Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our ammonia plant in Whitby and Vaughan locations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC/R systems, with experience in operating air compressors, chillers, water towers, and other equipment. You will also be responsible for performing routine inspections and testing of equipment and building infrastructure, as well as documenting air compressor readings and tracking gas, water, and hydro readings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain HVAC/R systems, including air compressors, chillers, and water towers
  • Perform routine inspections and testing of equipment and building infrastructure
  • Document air compressor readings and track gas, water, and hydro readings
  • Monitor and maintain water treatment for chillers and cooling towers
  • Provide access and assistance to sub-trades as required
Requirements
  • 3rd Class Power Engineer certificate or higher
  • Experience working as an operator in an ammonia plant
  • Strong troubleshooting and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work 3:30 pm-3:30 am on a continental shift
