The Water and Wastewater division at WSP Canada is actively seeking a Senior Electrical Site Inspector/Contract Administrator to enhance our Electrical team. This role involves overseeing site inspections and handling various contract administration responsibilities throughout the design, construction, and post-construction stages of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor daily contractor activities to ensure adherence to contract specifications, assessing contractor performance and ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Engage with clients, municipalities, and project managers in the development and evaluation of contract documents, focusing on constructability, quality assurance, and resolution of contractual and construction challenges.
  • Review and/or draft contract documents such as Supplementary General Conditions, Specifications, and Drawings.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding project progress, site concerns, and quality assurance, addressing issues as necessary.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Contract Administrator with site-related inquiries, including Requests for Information and Site Instructions.
  • Oversee change requests and claims, participating in the review process for payment certificates and managing contractor inquiries.
  • Lead by example, ensuring team members adhere to WSP's safety policies and procedures while mentoring and motivating them effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Electrical Technology/Technical Diploma or Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Site Inspection (Contract Administration experience is not mandatory) with a solid understanding of construction industry standards.
  • Preferred experience in water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, reservoirs, and transfer facilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret drawings, contract plans, and specifications.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of OSHEA, WHIMIS, and other industry safety regulations.
  • A passion for fieldwork and the ability to work independently, while also thriving in a team-oriented environment.
