Job Title: Director of Services

At The Children's Aid Society of the District of Thunder Bay, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Director of Services to support the implementation of our Strategic Plan. This role will play a critical part in promoting the safety, well-being, and advocacy of children, youth, and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advocate for the rights of children and youth, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
  • Apply an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion lens to all services and programs.
  • Create and update protocols and service agreements to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Build and maintain effective and meaningful partnerships with community organizations, stakeholders, and service providers.
  • Integrate social justice principles into all aspects of service delivery.
  • Develop and write funding proposals to secure resources for programs and services.
  • Ensure high standards of service delivery through continuous quality improvement processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and compliance with standards.
  • Develop and update policies to guide service delivery and organizational practices.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to staff and stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Social Justice, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in child welfare, advocacy, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing protocols, service agreements, and funding proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work from a trauma-informed and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion lens.
  • Strong advocacy and reconciliation skills.
  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Excellent partnership development and system navigation skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Experience in policy writing and quality assurance.
  • Strong clinical judgment and therapeutic experience.
  • Valid G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to pass a Police Vulnerable Sector Check, driving abstract, and child welfare record check, and meet any other regulatory requirements.
