The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company. This includes strategic financial planning, risk management, advising the Management Team on financial matters, and performing daily tasks like bookkeeping, cash management, and inventory control at our various lodges.

We seek an experienced financial expert to take charge of our financial management, reporting directly to the General Manager. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Full-cycle accounting
  2. Preparation of monthly financial statements for stakeholders
  3. Development of annual budget documents in collaboration with department heads
  4. Overseeing AR/Sales reporting software and related financial reporting
  5. Prompt processing of AP and maximizing reasonable discounts
  6. Management of Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
  7. Completion of monthly bank reconciliations
  8. Timely debt payments and maintenance of an organized accounting filing system
  9. Compliance with industry and government reporting requirements and tax filings
  10. Maintenance of relationships with external auditors
  11. Support for month-end and year-end close processes
  12. Quality control over financial transactions and reporting

In addition, the successful candidate will:

  1. Coordinate and direct budget preparation and rolling financial forecasts, including variance analysis
  2. Analyze and model business development opportunities

Candidate Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Controller/Accountant
  2. Expert Excel and Google Sheets skills
  3. At least 5 years of experience in industry, accounting, or a combination of both
  4. CPA designation strongly recommended
  5. Proficiency in various accounting software and systems administration

Working Conditions:

The ideal candidate will work primarily in our Whistler head office, with potential for a hybrid role allowing 2 days of remote work once established within the company. Regular travel to company properties and off-site business meetings are expected, along with occasional weekend or evening work.
