About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Winter Supervisor of Maintenance to join our Highway Operations Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising snow and ice control activities, ensuring the effective use of equipment and resources, and providing direction and technical support to our staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise snow and ice control activities, including planning and coordination of routes, staffing, equipment assignments, and repair.
  • Monitor and maintain department levels of service, ensuring that our roads and highways are safe and accessible for the public.
  • Provide technical support and direction to staff, including conducting preliminary site investigations, preparing cost estimates, and inspecting maintenance contracts.
  • Ensure stocks of road salt and traction sand are replenished daily, and oversee work on job sites.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School and 4 years of related experience (2 of the 4 years must be in snow and ice control services);
  • A Civil Engineering Technology Diploma plus 2 years of experience in snow and ice control services;
  • An acceptable equivalent of education, training, and experience.

You will also need to have a valid driver's license and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
