Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Triage Clerk. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing claim history, determining the validity of requests, and ensuring that representatives are authorized to access claim file information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze claim history and determine the validity of requests
  • Review authorizations to ensure representatives are authorized and the appropriate authority has been granted for claim file information
  • Review incoming requests and determine the validity and eligibility of a requestor's request for claim information
  • Create requests and gather components of the claim file within WCB's secure digital environment
  • Release claim files electronically, accurately and thoroughly in accordance with WCB policy
  • Meet accuracy and statistical requirements on a monthly basis
  • Work in a high-pace environment, managing your own workload and working with your teammates to carry out the team's priority work
  • Solve problems and communicate with customers to avoid unnecessary delays in service
  • Update business applications to ensure a high level of accuracy and confidentiality is maintained
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with external and internal customers

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and experience in an office and customer service environment are preferred
  • General knowledge of WCB legislation, policy, and procedures is considered an asset
  • General knowledge and familiarity with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Proficiency using business computer applications, including eCO and PAM (internal WCB software), is an asset
  • Highly effective in a multi-tasking environment with the ability to handle a large volume of work while meeting deadlines
  • Reliability and time management skills are integral to success in this position
  • The ability to exercise independent judgment and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail

What We Offer

This is a temporary, full-time position for approximately one year with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Candidates under consideration for this position may be asked to complete computer testing. Final candidates for this position are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
