We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting health and preventing disease in our communities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement public health programs and services to address local population health needs.
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to address health inequities and improve population health.
- Provide immunization program support to the Health Protection Team.
- Apply health equity, social justice, and determinants of health principles to all key responsibilities.
- You have a Bachelor in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
- You have a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in Public Health or Community Health.
- You are eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN).
- You have experience in prenatal and postnatal education, and are certified in Parent Child Interaction.
- You have experience working with families whose life circumstances put them at risk of not achieving healthy pregnancy or healthy child development outcomes.
- A competitive hourly rate of $54.11, increasing to $56.01 with 25 years of experience.
- A comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
