About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a key role in promoting health and preventing disease in our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement public health programs and services to promote health and prevent disease in our communities.
  • Work with community partners and stakeholders to address health inequities and improve population health.
  • Provide education and support to families and individuals on health-related topics, including prenatal and postnatal care.
  • Collaborate with the Early Years Consultant and other team members to address local population health needs.
  • Apply health equity, social justice, and determinants of health principles to all key responsibilities.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in nursing and public health. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in public health or community health.
  • Certificate in Public Health Nursing an asset.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
