Job Title: Specialist, Internal Control

Job Summary:

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a highly skilled Specialist, Internal Control to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Internal Control team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and supporting our compliance programs, including the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR), IT General Controls (ITGC), and Fraud Risk Assessment (FRA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal control evaluations and collaborate with business process owners to ensure adherence to internal control requirements.
  • Provide guidance on establishing effective control procedures and conduct control tests.
  • Participate in the preparation of comprehensive reports on financial risks and controls.
  • Offer strategic recommendations to support the development of effective internal control frameworks.
  • Represent the Internal Control team on various internal control matters and support functions in their ongoing activities.

Requirements:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CIA, CFE or equivalent) or currently working towards one.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
  • Between 1 to 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of risk management and internal control frameworks, including controls auditing techniques, risk assessment methodologies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Accounting principles and practices, along with the ability to conduct an analysis of issues.
  • Broad knowledge and experience working with computer software systems (specifically Google suite and Microsoft Office).
  • Capacity to interpret and reorganize data and information of a complex nature for presentation to all levels of management.
