About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will play a critical role in preparing, dispensing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals to perform a wide range of nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic procedures and therapies
  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, including cameras and computers
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment, and documentation
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care
  • Adapt procedures and perform complex computer manipulations and analysis as needed
  • Perform on-call/emergency procedures outside of regular department hours

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Experience as a Radiation Safety Officer is considered an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
  • Ability to adapt to changes and unusual circumstances
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to maintaining and expanding skills in nuclear medicine
