About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our nuclear medicine department, you will be responsible for preparing, dispensing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals to perform diagnostic procedures and therapies. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the quality and safety of our radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment, and documentation.

You will work closely with our team to adapt procedures, perform complex computer manipulations, and provide high-quality patient care. On a rotating basis, you will be required to perform on-call/emergency procedures outside of department hours, presenting to the nuclear medicine physician.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist who meets the following requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification and Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Experience as a Radiation Safety Officer is considered an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
  • Able to adapt to changes or unusual circumstances in a way that promotes co-operation, teamwork, and minimizes disruption to the work environment
  • Must be able to establish a rapport with patients demonstrating courtesy, kindness, understanding, and professionalism at all times
  • Must be committed to practicing all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and demonstrate initiative in maintaining and expanding all related skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Incentives

$39.96 hourly
