We are breaking the barriers of conventional drug development to propel antibody-based medicines from target to clinic. Our team consists of scientists, engineers, creatives, and business professionals who believe that advancing science enhances lives.
We have developed technologies to unlock high-value drug targets, including antibody-drug conjugates and T-cell engagers for cancer, and complex transmembrane proteins for indications such as metabolic and endocrine conditions, pain, and autoimmunity.
This role involves contributing to the assessment and development of antibody-based oncology drug candidates so we can move programs faster and with less risk to the clinic. The position involves internal R&D as well as external collaborative research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading preclinical in vivo oncology models to support oncology programs
- Designing, supporting, and interpreting pharmacology studies to generate in vivo proof-of-concept and build confidence in selection of molecules for clinical development
- Collaborating with in vitro biology, protein engineering, and pharmacokinetics scientists, as well as external CROs and collaborators, to execute efficient PK/PD studies to identify lead molecules and advance programs to human trials
- Mentoring team members in laboratory techniques related to tumour xenograft models
- Reporting findings to internal program teams and partners to support data-driven decisions
- Evaluating available preclinical and clinical data sets to build testable biological hypotheses for oncology targets and then preclinically assessing those hypotheses
- Developing and overseeing supporting assays to assess target modulation and downstream effects at the cellular, protein, and gene level
Your Qualifications:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in oncology, immuno-oncology, and biologics drug development
- PhD in pharmacology, immunology, or related field, plus 10+ years of experience in a biopharmaceutical industry setting; or MSc and 15 years of relevant experience
- Proven interpersonal skills and ability to create value on cross-functional teams
- Genuine curiosity with an interest in discussing innovative ideas in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate scientific and/or technical concepts with an emphasis on application
- Capacity to independently identify project needs and follow up with constructing and implementing solutions
- Pleasure in teamwork that comes with working on complicated biological questions and building data sets that help predict the success of therapies
What We Offer:
CAD $141,600 - CAD $177,000 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% RRSP contribution. You will also receive a CAD $1,500 annual Active Lifestyle Allowance, annual vacation, opportunity for flexible work arrangements, professional development opportunities, and comprehensive health benefits.
