Are you a seasoned project manager looking for a new challenge? Plan Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Project Lead to join our team.

As our Electrical Construction Project Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and achieving project targets and milestones to deliver electrical construction projects on-time and within budget.
  • Providing active promotion and leadership in Health and Safety.
  • Monitoring and providing status updates of work in progress, forecasts, cost control and project schedule in line with Plan Group's T.I.M.E. efficiency program.
  • Proactively identifying and bringing to management's attention potential problems and/or schedule delays.
  • Leading and managing project quality assurance, commissioning, and handover objectives.
  • Developing and leading value engineering, cost savings, and pricing initiatives and activities.
  • Monitoring and analyzing critical path activities and advising project team accordingly.
  • Reviewing and managing short interval planning.
  • Leading pre-job planning including estimate turnover, kick off meetings, subcontractor selection, material handling strategies and opportunities for risk management and improved productivity.
  • Following up with site supervision on labour/manpower progress; identifying and reducing roadblocks to success.
  • Managing project team to ensure requirements for document control, change order process, coordination of equipment and material deliveries, site meetings and progress documentation are adhered to.
  • Identifying opportunities to provide project team members with regular feedback, coaching and training.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, GCs and Engineers to positively contribute to the success of the project.

Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering post-secondary education or related.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related Project Management experience within the electrical construction industry.
  • Related experience in large construction projects surpassing $4M.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management applications.
  • Working towards a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent considered an asset.
