Job Summary:

The Electromechanic is a key member of the Pharmascience team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic analysis and diagnostics during equipment breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs;
  • Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules and complete maintenance reports;
  • Conduct minor checks of low-voltage electrical panels;
  • Plan and supervise work carried out by external firms;
  • Create technical drawings and schematics of equipment and systems if they are not available;
  • Ensure proper functioning of instruments and backup systems;
  • Report any anomalies on equipment and buildings;
  • Analyze breakages and propose solutions to ensure equipment reliability;
  • Accompany trainees in electromechanics;
  • Play a key role during power outages or evacuations;
  • Document alarms on the Building Automation System (BAS);
  • Ensure daily monitoring of purified water systems;
  • Perform workshop work, including conventional machining, bending, TIG welding, polishing, and passivation treatments;
  • Act as an interim stationary machine mechanic for weekend BAS alarms, providing primary verification and referring emergencies to the Maintenance, Mechanical, and Facilities (MMF) team as required.

Support and Improvement:

  • Consult and advise operators who use the equipment;
  • Assist the validation group during installations and qualifications of different systems;
  • Participate in Kaizen projects with a multidisciplinary team;
  • Participate with the maintenance planner in preparing work related to equipment, backup systems, and buildings;
  • Work from plans and drawings;
  • Document changes to be made to various preventive maintenance tasks;
  • Apply Safety, Security, and Environmental (SSE) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) rules;
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Requirements:

  • Autonomy and interpersonal skills;
  • Team spirit, attention to detail, and analysis;
  • Perseverance for problem-solving;
  • Ability to work under pressure and sense of priorities;
  • Basic computer literacy;
  • DEP/DEC training in electromechanics or other related training;
  • Between two (2) and five (5) years of experience in a similar position;
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical field would be an asset;
  • Holding a C license in electricity would be an asset.
