Job Title: Renovation Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Renovation Carpenter to join our team at Ottawa Home Contractors Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to renovation and construction, including preparing layouts, measuring and cutting materials, and installing windows, doors, and other fixtures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
  • Prepare and install hardwood floors
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the field
  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy environments
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
