Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis of variances from budget and forecast;
  • Identify and generate financial status reports by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts, and budgets;
  • Prepare various reports and provide analysis of variances for key operative parameters;
  • Serve as a key resource in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts and support managers throughout the budget & forecast process;
  • Participate in cost saving opportunities and prepare reports to assist management in understanding departmental costs;
  • Assist with economic justifications for capital expenditures and ensure appropriate documentation and filing of the Authority for Expenditure (AFE) reporting sheets;
  • Identify and track key performance metrics for capital expenditures and participate in long and short range financial planning for capital expenditures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline (Business, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, etc.);
  • CFA, APA or other accounting designations (e.g. ACCA) or working towards designation are considered an asset;
  • 5 to 8 years' of relevant experience working in a financial planning function;
  • Experience with SAP, XERAS & Hyperion, leading software implementations & working as super user is considered an asset;
  • Advanced working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
