About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our Community Transition Team at the Nanaimo Correctional Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive health, mental health, and substance use services to clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to address the complex needs of clients and their families.
- Provide evidence-based clinical interventions, including individual, family, and group therapy, to support clients in achieving their goals and improving their overall well-being.
- Collaborate with community agencies and healthcare providers to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care for clients.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, families, and community partners to promote trust, respect, and understanding.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in the field of social work, mental health, and substance use to inform your practice and contribute to the development of our team's expertise.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience working in a correctional health or related setting, with a focus on mental health and substance use services.
- Current registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
- Valid BC driver's license and reliable transportation.
