Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Community Transition Team at the Nanaimo Correctional Centre. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive health and mental health services to clients, including assessment, intervention, and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health and mental health assessments, including interviewing clients and gathering relevant information.
- Provide clinical intervention and support to clients and their families, including individual, family, and group therapy.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including education, short-term counseling, and crisis intervention.
- Collaborate with community agencies and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care and support.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families on mental health and substance use issues, child welfare, and custody proceedings.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work.
- Minimum 1 year recent related clinical experience working within a correctional health or other related setting.
- Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
