Senior Tax Manager

Baker Tilly is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Manager to join our team. This role will report directly to our Tax Partner and provide support to all members of the tax team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of personal tax, review, and compilation engagements
  • Review complex Canadian individual and corporate tax returns and other tax work prepared by staff
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies for private companies
  • Deliver high-quality tax planning, services, and advice to clients
  • Collaborate with Partners and senior staff on business tax compliance, tax provision, and tax advisory engagements
  • Lead special tax engagements and build client relationships at a senior level
  • Provide coaching and development of firm staff with respect to tax knowledge and matters
  • Prepare and present technical sessions to firm staff
  • Manage engagement financials, including budgets, work-in-process variances, and billing
Requirements:
  • Canadian Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or equivalent
  • Successful completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or Master of Tax Program
  • 7-10+ years of public accounting experience with experience in a tax-specific environment
  • High proficiency in MS Office, Caseware, and TaxPrep
  • Excellent attention to detail and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of a client-focused fast-paced work environment
