Job Title: Carpenter

Urban Construction Limited is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining buildings, bridges, and other structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare layouts and designs for construction projects
  • Measure, cut, and shape materials for building and repairing structures
  • Assemble and install materials, such as wood, steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, and other fixtures
  • Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites
  • Instruct apprentices and trainees
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects
  • Maintain and repair existing structures
Requirements:
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in the construction industry
  • Work site environment: Confined spaces, dusty, outdoors
  • Work setting: Various locations
  • Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling; combination of sitting, standing, walking; large workload; physically demanding; tight deadlines
  • Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles
  • Personal suitability: Accurate, client focus, judgement, reliability
