Job Overview

We are seeking a 3rd year Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering student to join our Development Engineering Team as an intern. The successful candidate will work closely with other team members to support various products manufactured at S&C and gain exposure to engineering design principles and manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Design revisions using Solid Edge 3D CAD software
  • Support Development Team projects and gain exposure to mechanics, electronics, high power electrical, software, and systems engineering
  • Investigate product designs to meet customer requirements
  • Assist with product testing (mechanical, electrical, software)
  • Manage short duration projects from initial concept to prototyping to implementation
Qualifications
  • 3rd or 4th year Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering student with a strong interest in power systems engineering
  • Able to work an 8-month co-op placement
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • A team player who can work independently under supervision
  • Structured problem-solving experience and exposure to Lean principles
  • Quick learner
  • Experience using 3D modeling tools such as Solid Edge is a strong asset
  • Experience with product development testing is an asset
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, based on industry standards. We offer a range of benefits including subsidized public transit and cafeteria programs.
