Overview



At Shady Tree Neighbourhood Pub, we are seeking an experienced Restaurant Host/Hostess to join our team. As a key member of our front-of-house staff, you will be responsible for ensuring that every guest has an exceptional dining experience.



Key Responsibilities


  • Welcoming guests and promptly seating them in a timely manner, ensuring they have everything they need to feel comfortable and at ease
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the host stand, waiting area, and surrounding environment
  • Managing reservations, taking phone calls, and responding to inquiries from guests and colleagues alike
  • Providing excellent customer service by anticipating and addressing guests' needs, resolving any issues that may arise, and exceeding their expectations
  • Working closely with servers, bartenders, and other staff members to ensure seamless service and a positive atmosphere
  • Collaborating with the management team to implement new ideas, improve processes, and drive business growth


Requirements and Qualifications




  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality or a related field an asset
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a host/hostess in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with guests, colleagues, and management
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work well under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach to ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
  • Availability to start immediately
