The York School, a gender-inclusive independent school in Toronto, is seeking an experienced educational leader to serve as the Vice-Principal & DP Coordinator. This key role involves ensuring alignment with International Baccalaureate (IB) standards and developing programs that support student growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Diploma Programme Coordinator, driving IB alignment and program development.
  • Support the development and implementation of school policies and programs aligned with The York School's mission.
  • Foster continuous improvement in teaching by providing instructional strategies and professional growth opportunities for faculty.
  • Address student support needs through collaboration with families and staff.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations, including scheduling, discipline, events, and resource allocation.
  • BUILD STRONG PARTNERSHIPS WITH FAMILIES AND THE COMMUNITY THROUGH EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION.
  • Represent The York School at community events, promoting school values and fostering relationships.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to meet IBO regulations and deadlines.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor of Education with OCT membership in good standing and experience with the IB are required.
  • The Principal's Qualification Program or equivalent is considered a strong asset.
  • At least 3 years of progressively challenging leadership experience in education.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, mediation abilities, and conflict management expertise.
  • Strategic academic vision, knowledge of educational research, and pedagogy.
  • Demonstrated excellence in strategic leadership, including planning and driving improvement, growth, and change management.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, effective conflict management, and empathetic interactions.
