Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. This is a full-time position that will involve tracking financial performance, providing information and analysis to guide decision making, and supporting the Distribution Centre manager.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely customer invoicing and KPIs.
  • Ensure P&L entries for purchases and spend are made accurately in the Customer profitability report.
  • Prepare customer weekly/monthly reports, including Profit and Loss statements and Balance Sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accruals and prepayments are in line with accounting standards.
  • Monitor actual spend against budgets for both customers and the company, providing variance analysis and detailed explanations.
  • Implement processes and procedures to ensure a lean and controlled working methodology, identifying and driving cost-saving initiatives.
  • Maintain costs accuracy and control administration of purchases through the Purchase Control system, evaluating opportunities and preparing business case applications.
  • Design and produce financial tracking tools to assist operations, ensuring budgets are maintained and aiding the business with implementations and start-ups.
  • Attend meetings as requested and prepare reports to review Financial Reporting with clients and the internal Management Team.
  • Increase financial awareness at all levels, ensuring adherence to financial standards and procedures.
  • Preparation of monthly rolling forecasts and annual target setting, along with ad-hoc variance analysis.
  • Assist the working capital team in monitoring and ensuring low AR ageing and optimization of the cash conversion cycle.
About You
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance & Accounting or equivalent with management accounting skills.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting role.
  • Knowledge of pricing and cost components in the 3PL and freight forwarding industry is preferred.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel (maintaining complex spreadsheets), and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to reporting and data visualization platforms such as Tableau is an asset.
  • 1+ years of experience with leading and implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies and Continuous Improvement.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
